Jackie MacArthur
Town Centre Manager
jm@congletontowncouncil.co.ukTown Centre and Marketing Manager. Jackie played a leading role within the Bear Team and the Beartown Rebranding project. Jackie has a wide ranging role in town centre development and organising event /promotional activity to increase both footfall and the viability of the Town in general.
Jackie MacArthur moved to Congleton with her husband and three young children in 2003, because her husband had a new job in Manchester and they wanted to live in a market town with great schools, friendly atmosphere, fast train links to Manchester and easy routes to friends and family in London, the West Country and Scotland. Congleton turned out to be ideal!
In 2005 Jackie joined Congleton Town Council, initially as an administrative assistant, and currently she is the Town Centre and Marketing Manager. It is an extremely varied role and she regards herself as fortunate to work with some great people both inside and outside of the Town Council.
Through her work she linked up with the BEAR team, attending the initial Business Group Meeting where Dawn was set the challenge of branding Congleton. Jackie says, ‘The drive and energy of the team is fantastic and Congleton is so much richer for having such a great group prepared to give their time and expertise’.
Jackie brings a wealth of expertise to the group, liaising with retail, the Council and other voluntary groups as well a certain degree of sensibleness – sometimes!!
