Aftercare

The hedge will be well mulched to keep down weeds until the planting is established. In the first year, volunteers will help with aftercare but in the long term, the planting will be maintained by the Town Council’s Streetscape team.  It is envisaged that this will be an informal hedge, allowed to grow to at least the height of the adjoining fence, and to develop blossom and berries to benefit wildlife, but trimmed as required to ensure vegetation does not conflict with access and recreational use.
