I see Congleton Solar was on the agenda for your meeting on 13th February. Could I please have an update on progress.
Hi Mary, I’ll post the update from the meeting:
Thanks to the overwhelming support from community investors and the backing of significant financial contributions, Congleton Solar has exceeded the minimum target of £400,000, thanks to a substantial Key Fund loan and grant amounting to £100,000, (Key Fund http://www.thekeyfund.co.uk a social investor who provides funding to community and social enterprises that have traditionally been excluded and turned down by mainstream lenders.) Bolstering the pot, the CO-OP Booster Fund has invested £60,000. With the final total from community investors raised £317,950, plus £15,000 existing cash, the final total is £492,950.
This achievement should enable the realisation of all 10 planned solar schemes but one scheme will be put on hold until the final costs of the 10 installations outlined in the business plan are confirmed.
