Quinta Park – proposed planting
Hedge planting with two hedgerow trees along the northern boundary of the green space between Sandbach Road, Ullswater Road, Coniston Road and Brooklands Road. The green space is owned by Cheshire East Council and managed by Congleton Town Council. Both support tree and hedge planting to help reduce the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss.
‘I like it’ (supportive): 6
‘I don’t like it’ (against): 5
‘I like it, but…’ (asking for some changes): 1
Whilst there was a majority in support of the proposals, some issues were raised that require further discussion with stakeholders before the scheme can be finalised.
The Tree Council has agreed 100% funding for the work under its Branching Out Fund.
The hedge will be well mulched to keep down weeds until the planting is established. In the first year, volunteers will help with aftercare but in the long term, the planting will be maintained by the Town Council’s Streetscape team. The details are still to be confirmed but it is expected that the hedge will be maintained at below the level of adjoining fencing, with trimming on alternate sections each year to allow some fruit and berries to develop each year for wildlife and amenity benefit.

We would love local residents to become ‘friends’ of the trees and plants planted in the area, a ‘friend’ would keep an eye on the site and report any damage or problems, or indeed how the plants are flourishing! Please fill in the form below with your contact details and a member of the team will be in touch.
Have your say!
We try our best to listen to the views of local residents, your feedback does matter! The feedback form will go directly to Trees for Congleton Team.
