Thirlmere Court green space – proposed planting
Planting and maintenance dates and times: COMPLETED
Description
Orchard planting in the large green space to the east of Thirlmere Court, West Heath. The green space is owned by Cheshire East Council and managed by Congleton Town Council. Both support tree and hedge planting to help reduce the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss.
Consultation results
‘I like it’ (supportive): 11
‘I don’t like it’ (against): 15
‘I like it, but…’ (asking for some changes): 0
Opinions on the proposals were very polarised but there was a majority against the planting of a hedge on the western boundary. There were no objections to the fruit tree planting, and there may be some support for other tree planting (e.g. to commemorate the forthcoming Coronation).
