Ullswater Road Planting

Planting and maintenance dates and times: See current programme.

Description:

The wide road verge at the junction of Ullswater Road and Sandbach Road is owned by Cheshire East Council. Both Cheshire East and Congleton Town Council support tree and hedge planting to help reduce the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss. A section of hedging opposite Quinta School was proposed by some local residents to deter car parking on the verge, which increases the risks for children and other road users. Planting would also have wider benefits – it would increase the value of the green space for capturing and storing carbon, create habitat for wildlife and help to filter out air-borne pollutants.
