30,000 Trees by 2025
Trees for Congleton is a group of volunteers that aims to plant 30,000 trees in the Congleton area by the end of 2025. Trees, hedges and shrubs play a significant role in combatting climate change and increasing biodiversity.
Working group: A small group was set up under the umbrella of the Congleton Sustainability Group (CSG) with the support of Cheshire Wildlife Trust and the advice of an experienced landscape architect to plan and manage the project. We are also working with the Town Council’s Streetscape team and with Congleton Rotary.
Recording Document: We keep an updated record of planting / planned planting so that everyone can see where we are at versus the target. If you plant a tree in Congleton, please let us know by emailing us at treesforcongleton@gmail.com
Congleton Green: The Tree group is not part of the Green Working Group or Congleton Town Council but there is a huge amount of synergy, after all, there is not just one solution to climate change, but together we all need to be part of the solution. You can learn more about Congleton Green here.
A massive thank you to our volunteers who make it all possible!
